PSIA-AASI is creating two new, national education roles designed to strengthen how we support members, member schools, and the broader snowsports industry, including a director role that is now open for applications.

These positions are part of a larger strategic shift informed by what we heard through the 2025-26 individual member and member school surveys: members want more accessible, flexible, and relevant professional development; clearer learning pathways; stronger digital tools; and more education that supports the realities of today’s instructors, trainers, and school leaders.

We heard you, and we are acting. These changes are the first visible step in responding to that feedback.

This does not mean PSIA-AASI is moving away from on-snow instructor education, certification, or the core work that has long defined our association. That work remains central to who we are and what we do. These new roles are about adding capacity, focus, and expertise so we can strengthen the foundation we already have while also building new ways to support members and schools as a professional educational association.

The new Director of Learning Systems & Professional Development will lead the evolution of PSIA-AASI’s national professional development strategy and learning ecosystem. This role will focus on building modern learning systems, developing scalable professional development pathways, supporting new education pilots, and strengthening how PSIA-AASI serves all its constituents, including the snowsports industry. The new Learning Systems & Content Manager will help turn that strategy into high-quality learning experiences. This position will support digital learning platforms, instructional design, content development, learning analytics, and educational project management, helping ensure PSIA-AASI can deliver accessible, engaging, and useful education across a variety of formats. The application period for this role will open in a few weeks.

These roles will help PSIA-AASI:

• build more flexible professional development pathways
• improve digital learning experiences
• create practical resources for schools and trainers
• strengthen leadership development opportunities
• make learning more accessible regardless of where members live or teach
• strengthen educational consistency through better learning systems and content

This work will not happen all at once, but these roles are an important step toward (quickly) building the systems, expertise, and capacity needed for the future. They reflect a commitment to listening to member feedback and investing in education that better supports the full range of instructors and schools that make up our association.

Ultimately, these changes are about making PSIA-AASI easier to learn from, easier to engage with, and better equipped to support instructors and schools throughout every stage of their professional journey.
