WHY ATTEND?
2027 Theme: Together We Rise
The 2027 PSIA-AASI Women’s Summit will bring together 150 women from across disciplines, generations, roles, and experience levels for three days of on- and off-snow learning, connection, mentorship, and growth.
Through on-snow skill development plus programming focused on teaching, people skills, and leadership, participants will build confidence, strengthen relationships, and leave equipped to share what they learned—creating a ripple effect in their schools, communities, and the snowsports profession.
The theme will shape the full summit journey: beginning with community and connection, progressing into purposeful skill development and action, and concluding with how participants can bring their growth home to strengthen others.
Cross-disciplinary learning, mentorship, coach-led conversations, and personalized pathways will reinforce the idea that individual growth has its greatest impact when it helps the whole community rise.

2026: Katie Ertl
Growing up in Aspen allowed me many days on the slopes racing for Aspen Valley Ski Club while not in school. I started teaching skiing at age 18 as a way to work through University, and stayed in the industry ever since. After graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado, I headed into a full-time career teaching and coaching for Aspen Skiing Company and at Mt. Hotham in Victoria, Australia. Concurrently, I started working for our Instructors Association (PSIA/AASI) on the National level in 1996 working with the Education team and finished with that in 2012.
In 2017, I moved from 12 years as the Managing Director for the Ski &Snowboard Schools in Aspen Snowmass to a senior role in Mountain Operations, while continuing to oversee the Schools. It has been a fun ride, and I love the continued personal and professional growth.

PSIA-AASI Women’s Council for Equity and Inclusion
The mission of the Women’s Council for Equity and Inclusion is to invest in women through educational programming, women’s events, financial support and mentoring at the local, regional and national levels. It also acts as the visionary steering group for creating opportunities for women in leadership in PSIA-AASI and the greater snowsports industry. This group helped revive the women’s summit as a national event, and is actively working with schools and instructors to collect data, develop resources and programs, and guide and inform PSIA-AASI efforts.
