We are excited to announce the upcoming Unified Telemark Assessment open to members from any region. This modular, three-day on-snow assessment offers a unique opportunity to achieve certification aligned with the latest national standards. This marks the exciting start to a unified annual evaluation, which will relocate annually to meet the certification needs of telemark instructors across the country.
This initiative is part of PSIA-AASI’s collective effort toward National Alignment by May 2026, ensuring consistent assessment processes across all regions and disciplines. To support this transition, representatives from the Intermountain, Northern Intermountain Mountain, Northern Rocky Mountain, and Rocky Mountain regions are coming together to host this event, with examiners from multiple regions.

Assessment locations have been selected to minimize travel and lodging costs for members. The first Unified Telemark Assessment will take place in April 2026 in Snowbird, Utah, offering easy travel to Salt Lake City from across the United States. In addition, multiple affordable lodging options are available in the Salt Lake City area. In 2027, the event will be hosted by the Rocky Mountain Region and held in Summit County, Colorado. The 2028 event will be hosted by the Western Region and take place in the Lake Tahoe region with easy access from Reno, Nevada. Locations for 2029 and beyond are TBD.
It is our hope that this format will allow you to travel to an event affordably or to pick an event that is close to home to help you reach your certification goals.
