The scholarships benefited 10 schools and almost 100 individuals.
“Scholarships are a great resource for ski and snowboard instructors with certification goals for the season,” said PSIA-AASI Education Foundation member Eric Sheckleton. “For instructors who are interested, now is the time to complete your application.”
The PSIA-AASI Education Foundation provides four different scholarships opportunities: the Certification or Specialist Education Track Scholarship, the Nancy Oakes Hall Women’s Scholarship, the Small Snowsports School Scholarship, and in conjunction with the 10th Mountain Division Foundation, the Veteran Workforce and Education Track Scholarship.
“The best part of these scholarships is they encourage members to attended education events to help them strengthen their skills and enhance their career opportunities,” said PSIA-AASI Chief Executive Officer Nicholas Herrin. “Education events are the core of our community. They help instructors improve their skills so they can lead more successful lessons.”
PSIA-AASI scholarships are available to members and non-members who want to learn more about working as an instructor. Instructors who are interested in applying for a scholarship can learn more, and apply for the specific scholarships listed here.
Certification or Specialist Education Track Scholarship
This scholarship awards ski and snowboard instructors funds to pursue a certification or specialist credential from PSIA-AASI. Learn more.
Nancy Oakes Hall Women’s Scholarship
This scholarship provides women opportunities to engage with peers and advance their professional development. Founded by and named in honor of Nancy Oakes Hall, a former PSIA Alpine Team member and Aspen and Sun Valley instructor, the program awards three types of scholarships each year to female PSIA-AASI members.
