Regional BEnefits

Regions are where your boots hit the snow. In addition to being a powerful resource for members, regions also work closely with ski and ride schools to provide training resources for instructors so you can feel confident in your skills and job.

Need to Know: Regional Certification Pathways

PSIA-AASI certifications represent a standard of consistent competency, and your credentials are recognized and transferrable nationwide. Each region has a slightly different process for certification including prep clinics, written or online exams, testing in various modules, and what membership types may attend which events.

While you may attend educational events in any region and have those continuing education credits honored by PSIA-AASI, you cannot sign up for a certification assessment/exam in another region without prior authorization from your home region AND completing the unique prerequisites. Please visit your region’s website for more information.

PSIA-AASI Region Governance

Our regions have deep roots in their communities. Many precede the national organization by dating back to the 1930s. Each PSIA-AASI region is a standalone entity with a volunteer board of directors, a CEO, paid staff, and regionally based discipline experts, from “demonstration” teams to education staff. These individuals work in partnership with the national office to provide a premier member experience.

Working Toward Educational Alignment

PSIA-AASI and its regions are looking ahead to the 2026-27 season with a goal to align all certification processes nationwide for each discipline, each certificate, and all levels. The intent is to create consistent and fair assessments that are not specific to any region or area and are the same across the entire country. This effort will improve the credentialing and acknowledgement of our PSIA-AASI education. It will also provide more opportunities for members to travel to different regions for education events or assessments (exams). Your credentials are still valid nationwide, and this will not impact members directly until it is implemented. Once the effort is near completion, members will be made aware of the benefits and any process changes.

Member FAQ and Resources

The information below should help you better understand and navigate our regions. Please visit the main Member Resources and FAQ page for additional information.

You can belong to one or multiple regions or transfer your membership to another region. To change your region, contact the region you want to transfer to and pay a $25 transfer fee. Transfer fees are not required if you request to transfer before paying your annual membership dues.

You will see two line items on your membership dues invoice – one for national and one for your region. Each region is unique and each sets its fee based on the member services it provides; the same is true for the national office. You only need to renew once and we divide the funds.

All events can be found on the one, national calendar. When registering, you will be prompted to log in to validate your membership status. You can attend education events in any region and your credits will be valid nationwide. You will not be able to sign up for a certification assessment/exam in a different region without prior authorization from the region to which your membership is attached, AND completing all of the specific prerequisites required by the region where you want to take your exam.

Regions have their own event and webinar cancellation policies. Please visit your region’s website to learn more.

If you cannot attend a national-hosted webinar you signed up for, simply let us know at any time BEFORE the scheduled start time and we will issue you a full refund. Any cancellation requests received at any time after the scheduled start time, will NOT be issued a refund.
