Winter Adventure Camp Coach (Snow Instructor)

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: We are seeking outgoing, energetic individuals who are passionate about sharing their love for adventure sports with our guests.

Requirements:

  • Safety minded & commitment to safe practices
  • Exceptional ability to provide outstanding guest service & hospitality
  • Strong group management and communication skills (during sessions but also week to week)
  • Ability & willingness to create lesson plans (with help from support staff)
  • Experience teaching skiing or snowboarding – scheduling preference is given to those with a PSIA / AASI Certification
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented mindset
  •  Reliable attendance & timeliness
  • Must be willing to work outside, for long periods of time, in any conditions.
  • At least one year of teaching skiing or snowboarding AND / OR strong prior experience working with children
  • A coach is only required to choose one session but can coach more than one.
  • A coach must be available for all the days of that session in order to be scheduled.
  • A full shift is required of each instructor in the Learning Center, no matter the lesson type. Weekend WAC shifts start at 8am.
    • When needed, you may be asked to help with teaching other lesson offerings in the Learning Center before or after your WAC session, if you’re not teaching both sessions.
  • 8 Week Program
    • Saturday Sessions 8:30am – 11:30pm AND 1pm – 4pm from January 4th to February 22nd
    • Sunday Sessions 8:30am – 11:30pm AND 1pm – 4pm from January 5th to February 23rd
    • Make-Up Session on first weekend in March

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT: 

  • Plan and execute weekly lesson progression with assigned group
  • Assist with the check-in, pick-up, and camper sorting process
  • Interact positively with parents at the beginning and end of each session
  • Help students progress week to week in their skills and mountain ability
  • Train and prepare for coaching role with the training team pre-season & continues to invest in personal improvement throughout the season
  • Interact during the pre-program and debrief meetings each week
  • Assist the program coordinator in ensuring accurate rosters using technical coordinators to facilitate group changes
