Ski/Snowboard Instructor

Instructors will teach skiing and/or snowboarding skills and techniques per the department’s policies and learning progressions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teach alpine skiing and/or snowboarding to beginner to intermediate-ability students, using PSIA/AASI teaching methods and following the safety codes of the mountain.
  • Plan, organize, and implement ability-appropriate lessons.
  • Promote and emphasize safety in all classes.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and encourage further learning by teaching high-quality lessons.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to physically and verbally demonstrate the tasks associated with the learning progressions.
  • Must be able to multi-task and exercise good judgment.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment quickly.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a positive and encouraging attitude.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to spend a full day on skis/snowboard.
  • Must be able to work for an extended period of time in varying weather conditions, including extreme cold and/or wind.
  • Must be able to work at high altitudes for an extended period of time.

Expected Work Hours:

  • Must be available to work during Christmas Peak Period and President’s Day Peak Period
  • Must be available to work 15+ days during the month of March 2025
