Status: Winter Seasonal, Full-Time

SKI SCHOOL DIRECTOR JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for generating sales and increasing the yield of all Skiing Services products. The maintenance of Skiing Services programs, policies and procedures. Coordinates implementation and support of these activities with supervisors and staff. Maintains programs to increase Ski School student participation and Skiing Services product sales. Responsible for administrative operations of Skiing Services which includes assisting with the preparation of financial reports, contracts, scheduling, and is responsible for all written communication from the department. Supports communication, coordination, and interaction with all departments throughout the company. Maintains training programs within the department and oversees staff development and performance.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS:
- Increase revenue and yield of all Skiing Services products.
- Develop and maintain Skiing Services training programs in the areas of ski teaching, current technique, guest service, salesmanship and ski area knowledge
- Develop and maintain and update all manuals, calendars, Ski School forms, systems, schedules and other support materials as needed.
- Responsible for determining staffing needs, hiring and monitoring positions within the Skiing Services department.
- Oversee the needs assessment, purchases, utilization and maintenance of all Ski School tools including radios, uniforms and office equipment and supplies.
- Assist in developing the annual operating and capital budgets and monitor department performance standards relative to the budgets with monthly variance reports.
- Maintain visibility during the daily operations of the Ski School and provide direction and guest service to staff, guests, and other departments.
- Create open lines of communication with staff to facilitate the flow of information for smooth operations
- Develop and maintain products and programs that increase revenue, meet or exceed budgeted revenues, while meeting the needs of guests.
- Coordinate public relations and marketing through the Mission Ridge Marketing Department.
- Assist Sales team in selling and scheduling guests using POS system.
- Assist in the compilation of daily reports including payroll, labor, revenue and other necessary reports.
- Maintain an active role in team building and supporting the Ski School Supervisors, staff, Mission Ridge Management and Mission Ridge policies.
- May be required to lift up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Operate within established budgets that meet the financial goals of the company.
- Through a cooperative relationship, support all other departments and staff.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Proficiency in Google Suite and other programs.
- Proficiency in the basics of spreadsheets and the budgeting process.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 years or experience in Ski School management preferred.
- Current affiliation with ski industry associations and working knowledge of ski resort business.
- Current PSIA Level II Certification, DCL or Examiner or other recognized ski teaching certification.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Be able to work outside in an all-season outdoor mountain environment for prolonged periods.

-Consistent and constant standing and walking while in operation.
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: REGULARLY
-The position requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, stoop, and crouch for extended periods.
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: FREQUENTLY
-Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: FREQUENTLY
-Must be able to write, type, and use phone system
