Job Summary/Description: MAC Ski & Snowboard is searching for experienced and certified Ski and Snowboard Professionals for its Seasonal Group Learning Program, the Flying M’s. MAC Ski & Snowboard’s Flying M’s program is designed to provide children ages 4-14 with a comprehensive and fun learning experience, focusing on fundamental skill development. Instructors work with a small group of students of like age and ability level over the course of 12 sessions from January to mid-March, including a 3-day Holiday Camp over the Holiday break, December 27-29. Instructors report directly to the Lead Instructor and the Program Director.

In addition to teaching in our exciting season-long youth program, Flying M’s, our instructors also can create relationships with MAC members and promote themselves for private lessons, earning commission at our industry leading Private Training rates. S3 and above Instructors are also eligible for assignment to adult classes and programs.

MAC Ski & Snowboard is a Certified US Ski and Snowboard Club Team and PSIA-AASI Member School, serving the members of the Multnomah Athletic Club in multiple snow sports.

Qualifications:

1.     Current professional certification from PSIA-AASI, and/or US Ski and Snowboard; or has an experienced background in ski/snowboard instruction and/or coaching.

2.     Professional Instruction experience through a School or Club Team preferred.

3.     Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate professionally and effectively.

4.     Demonstrated effective planning and organizational skills.

5.     Demonstrated technological proficiency including a working knowledge of computer applications and smart phone applications (i.e., email communication, Microsoft Office programs, use of Dayforce App for employee self-management, and use of Team Snap platform for scheduling and communication).

Pay/Benefits: Ski/Snowboard Instructor pay is based upon candidate’s experience and professional certifications, according to MAC’s Instructor Priority Status. Instructors’ wage and private lesson percentage are tied to their Status. There are 4 status levels: S4 – Entry Level ($18-$20/hr, PT rate 62%), S3 – Certified Instructor ($21-$24/hr, PT rate 63-64%), S2 – Senior Instructor ($25-$29/hr, PT rate 65-66%, and S1 – Elite/Trainer ($30-$36/hr, PT rate 67%). All Instructors earn a free season pass to Mt. Hood Meadows, receive employee discounts at our restaurants and shops, including an incredible $3.50 employee lunch program, and enjoy the use of our world class athletic club during their working season.
