Director of Learning Programs

Job Summary:
The Director of Learning Programs oversees the quality of both guest and employee experiences across all learning initiatives. This role is pivotal in enhancing the program’s reputation by cultivating a professional yet enjoyable environment. Reporting directly to the Director of Business Operations, the successful candidate will strategize and execute plans to expand the program’s impact during the peak ski season (December 1 to April 1). This is a full-time position during the winter season(~12/26-3/18) with opportunities for part-time to full-time work in the off-season.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the recruitment, training, and certification of instructors, including organizing pre-season educational clinics.
  • Manage the operational aspects of both the Learning and After School programs.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive after-school offerings in collaboration with local communities.
  • Foster and sustain partnerships with educational institutions and other learning entities.
  • Standardize procedures for group check-ins and check-outs.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Sales departments to enhance customer experiences, from lesson bookings to purchases.
  • Supervise instructors’ work schedules and ensure they align with program demands.\
  • Maintain open and effective communication with all stakeholders through various channels.
  • Oversee the payroll process for instructors, guaranteeing both accuracy and punctuality.
  • Address and resolve issues swiftly, applying disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Mediate conflicts involving staff or guests to ensure a harmonious environment.
  • Liaise with other department heads to ensure coordinated operations.
  • Occasionally step in as a ski or snowboard instructor when required.
  • Manage the inventory and distribution of uniforms and instructional equipment like ski school learning props.
