About the Program
At Appalachian Ski Mountain, we take pride in introducing guests of all ages to the joy of skiing and snowboarding. Our French-Swiss Ski College provides a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment where new skiers and riders can build confidence, improve skills, and develop a lifelong love of winter sports. Whether teaching first-timers or helping intermediate guests progress to the next level, our instructors play a vital role in creating memorable mountain experiences for every guest.

Position Summary
We’re looking for friendly, patient, and passionate Ski & Snowboard Instructors to join our instructional team this winter season. This role focuses on teaching the fundamentals of skiing or snowboarding, fostering a positive learning environment, and inspiring a love for the sport. Previous teaching or snowsports experience is helpful but not required—training and certification opportunities are provided. The most important qualities are strong skiing or riding ability, enthusiasm, good communication skills, and a genuine interest in helping others learn.

Key Responsibilities
·         Teach beginner to intermediate guests the fundamentals of skiing or snowboarding in group and private lessons.

·         Create a safe, fun, and encouraging learning atmosphere.

·         Adapt teaching methods to various ages, abilities, and learning styles.

·         Provide clear demonstrations, positive feedback, and motivation.

·         Promote safety awareness and responsible mountain behavior.

·         Assist guests with use of equipment, lift loading, and other on-hill needs.

·         Communicate effectively with guests, parents, supervisors, and fellow instructors.

Qualifications
·         Friendly, patient, and service-oriented personality.

·         Experience teaching, coaching, or working with children or guests is a plus.

·         Ability to work outdoors in variable winter conditions.

·         Must be available weekends and holidays during the ski season (December–March).

·         Prior instructional or PSIA/AASI certification is beneficial but not required.
