Prepare for high-elevation and spring skiing conditions! Here are the Top 5 Reasons H2O is Key to Having the Best Experience. The summit of Big Sky tops out at 11,166 feet and the area boasts an amazing vertical drop of 4,350 feet, which means that from top to bottom, oxygen levels differ. Spring skiing conditions are highly variable and may be different than what you’re used to skiing on. Here’s some spring skiing information that Ski Magazine put together with a former PSIA Alpine Team member.

If you want or need rental equipment, Big Sky Ski and Snowboard Rentals has discounts for advanced reservations.

Enhancing learning in snowsports: Questions, Connections, and Quality with Dr. Andrew Horrell

In snowsports, a longstanding aim of educators has been to create learning experiences which lead to change, enjoyment and engagement. In the age where information is everywhere and accessible in ways that were not possible just a few years ago, there remains something special about the connections that can be made in the moment between the educator and the learner. If attention is the “currency” of learning, questions might be where value is created and exchanged between the educator and the learner. Therefore, learning to harness the potential of questions is more important than ever.

Learning to ask better questions is a feature of many teacher education programs and this presentation will focus on the role of questions as a strategy to foster and create powerful learning environments. It will explore the why, and clarify the aims, purposes and means by which to make connections aid learning and enhance the overall quality of experiences in snowsports.
