PSIA-AASI Western Region is excited to host the 4th Annual National Freestyle Academy at Northstar California Resort in North Lake Tahoe, February 23-27, 2026. Registration is OPEN!

Whether you’re looking to level up your park skills or prepare for your Freestyle Specialist certification, this event is your chance to train with National Team members and top Western Region freestyle coaches in one of the best terrain parks around. Calling All Snowboarders and Skiers Looking to Amp Up Their Skills and Style


Freestyle Academy is a 3-day camp offering hands-on training. You’ll have the chance to work on your jumps, rails, halfpipe, and flatland tricks, all while improving your technical and teaching skills. Plus, you’ll connect with fellow instructors from across the country in an inspiring, fun-filled atmosphere. Choose the full Academy experience: a 3-day Educational/Prep option followed by a Freestyle Specialist 1 or 2 assessment event to wrap up your week. Or, choose one of the 3-day education/prep events or 2-day assessment events as a standalone option.

Freestyle Academy has multiple options to best fit your needs. There are up to 3 days of camps available plus Freestyle assessments. You can attend 1, 2, or 3 days of camp, or just the Freestyle Specialist 1, 2, or 3.

Alternatively, you can attend 1 or 2 days of camp and the 3-day Freestyle Specialist. At the camp, you’ll have the chance to work on your jumps, rails, halfpipe, and flatland tricks, all while improving your technical and teaching skills. There are clinics designed for all levels of participation; learn how to safely navigate with your students, take an intro to park clinic, or go practice on the large features. Plus, you’ll connect with fellow instructors from across the country in an inspiring, fun-filled atmosphere.

Choose the full Academy experience: a 2-day Educational/Prep option followed by a Freestyle Specialist 1, 2, or 3 assessment event to wrap up your week.

  • First Chair Rate: $345.00 (available through January 27)
  • Second Chair Rate: $360.00 (available through February 3)
  • Last Chair Rate: $375.00

FS1 Prerequisite(s)
At minimum, must be a current PSIA-AASI-certified Level I (or equivalent) instructor and be able to ski or ride at current certification level.

2026 Registration Options

Freestyle Academy is 5 days of activities geared to meet your specific needs. Attend clinics along with the Level 1, 2, or 3 assessment to get your FS certificate. Pick and choose options to meet your needs.

Participants may sign up for any combination of clinic days (Feb 23–25). Participants taking the Freestyle Specialist assessments must attend all three FS days (Feb 25–27). Participants may not take a clinic on Feb. 25 and then test in the FS assessment on Feb 26–27.
