PSIA-AASI certified instructors are your resort’s best ambassadors as well as your future school managers, leaders, and staff trainers. Our member schools report that PSIA-AASI has a significant and positive impact on their operations. More than 80% agree or strongly agree that PSIA-AASI trained or certified instructors have a positive overall impact on guest experiences, increase safety awareness through education, and contribute to higher rates of year-over-year retention of instructors. National Benefits for Member Schools

PSIA-AASI member snowsports schools have access to expert resources, from educational materials to our skilled staff who can spend time on the hill with your team conducting trainings and/or certification clinics. Below are benefits offered by the national office. Please work with your region to engage education staff and enjoy additional support. Find your region via the map, below.

The Directors’ Search Tool allows you to simply and quickly confirm the membership status and certification level of any PSIA-AASI instructor. (Access to the tool is limited to PSIA-AASI Member School directors or a designated area employee with human resources responsibilities.)

Roster Manager allows you to view PSIA-AASI instructors affiliated with your ski school. Identify your school’s Roster Manager on your renewal or application form and PSIA-AASI will contact them regarding how to use the tool. If you can’t access it or want to add another employee, contact Member Services at 303.987.9390 or email memberservices@thesnowpros.org.

We offer an annual scholarship for member schools with no more than 150 staff members. The award provides access to educational events and education leaders, such as PSIA-AASI National Team members, who provide experiences that may be career-changing. Scholarship recipients may receive up to $2,000 for an education plan (prep clinics, education resources, exams) and additional travel expenses for PSIA-AASI clinicians that visit the PSIA-AASI Member School. The application period opens late summer to early fall and typically closes October 31.

Our free online learning course designed for first-time instructors is a great resource to provide your staff and set them up for success. This course is designed to prepare new instructors for their first day of teaching by introducing them to the industry, the job of an instructor, the importance of safety, and how to work with guests. A certificate of completion is included so that schools can check for understanding.

Join Jeb Boyd, PSIA-AASI National Team Head Coach, for a presentation about the Learning Connection Model and understand why the model’s focus on the People, Teaching, and Technical skills can help you AND your staff become great instructors. See how to create a work culture that promotes and values a workforce that excels in people and teaching skills, and not just technical skills. You’ll also learn how these three skills are now part of PSIA-AASI’s National Standards and how they are aimed at developing great instructors. Leave this session with a better understanding on how to use the Learning Connection Model for your own professional development and how you can train your workforce on enhancing their skills.

Member schools can access PSIA-AASI’s materials to develop a junior instructor program. The training must be delivered by a PSIA-AASI certified Level II non-discipline specific instructor. As long as these below minimum requirements are met, your school is welcome to build this program around your resort’s specific workforce and training needs.

Member schools are invited to take advantage of our National Team. The 36 members, representing all disciplines set the standard for U.S. snowsports instruction, embody the ski and snowboard experience, and are deeply engaged in the development of PSIA-AASI education materials, programs, and activities at all levels.

Bring one (or several) National Team members to your ski area, Nordic center, or snowsports event! As ambassadors for the highest echelons of the snowsports instruction profession, they educate, inspire, uplift, and influence members of our community everywhere. Their skills and passion can elevate your next event, excite and inspire your staff, or provide instruction at the highest level.

Snowsports Management Advisory Council (SMAC)

The SMAC is a collective of snowsports school leaders from across the U.S., nominated by and representing each PSIA-AASI region. These individuals share best practices and act as a resource to help steer national educational programming directions.
