About Inside Edge
Since 1977, Inside Edge Ski + Snowboard School has been Southern California’s home for personalized snowboard instruction. Using our custom simulator, we help riders of all ages and ability levels prepare for the winter season in a unique open-air setting on Coast Highway in Encinitas, located in the parking lot of Hansen’s Surf Shop.

Our mission is simple: provide exceptional instruction that builds confidence, develops skills, and helps every student enjoy their time on the mountain.

Position Summary
Inside Edge is seeking enthusiastic Snowboard Instructors to join our team for weekend lessons throughout the winter season. Instructors teach private one-on-one and group lessons on our simulator, working with students of all ages and ability levels.

No simulator experience is required. We provide comprehensive simulator and instructor training before you begin teaching.

• Teach engaging, personalized snowboard lessons to students of all ages and ability levels.
• Evaluate each student’s skills and tailor lessons to meet their goals.
• Create a fun, supportive, and encouraging learning environment.
• Maintain the highest standards of safety during every lesson.
• Provide clear, constructive coaching and feedback.
• Collaborate with fellow instructors to share ideas and best practices.
• Assist with the setup, operation, and care of simulator equipment and teaching areas.
• Deliver outstanding customer service while representing Inside Edge professionally.

Who We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications

• Strong snowboard riding ability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, patient, and professional attitude.
• Ability to work with children, adults, and families.
• Commitment to safety and quality instruction.
• Comfort working in an outdoor, open-air environment.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a California DOJ and FBI LiveScan fingerprint background check.
• Candidates must complete California Mandated Reporter Training and comply with all organization child safety and supervision policies.

Experience and Certifications
We welcome instructors at every stage of their teaching journey, from strong riders with no formal certification to seasoned, highly-certified pros. We’ll train beginners to teach; certified instructors (PSIA-AASI or equivalent international certification) are encouraged to apply at their corresponding level.

Placement is based on certification level, teaching experience, and time with the school. Final classification is determined by the School Director.

Dual Discipline Instructors
Instructors certified in both Alpine and Snowboard are preferred and receive the enhanced Dual Discipline pay rate.

Compensation
Compensation is based on certification level, teaching experience, and tenure with the school.

Hourly Pay: $18.00 to $35.00 per hour

Additional earning opportunities include:

• Dual Discipline premium
• Per-lesson bonuses
• Seniority increases for continuous service, up to an additional $10.00 to $18.50 per hour after five or more consecutive seasons

Schedule
This is a Weekend seasonal position, designed for instructors who want to teach on weekends throughout the winter season.

Availability for weekend operations (Saturdays, Sundays, and holiday weekends) throughout the season.
Scheduling is based on business demand, lesson volume, weather, and operational needs.
No minimum number of hours or shifts is guaranteed.
This is an at-will seasonal position for the winter season specified in your employment offer. Returning instructors in good standing receive priority consideration for rehire each season.
