Welcoming Hestra: PSIA-AASI’s Newest Premier Partner

PSIA-AASI is proud to announce that Hestra — the Swedish, family-owned glovemaker trusted by mountain professionals for nearly a century — is becoming a Premier Partner for Gloves and Mittens.

Founded in 1936 in the small Swedish village of Hestra, the company has spent generations perfecting the craft of handmade leather gloves and mittens built to perform in the harshest winter conditions. What began as a single workshop grew into a brand relied on by ski patrollers, mountain guides, and instructors around the world without ever losing the hand-finished construction and attention to detail the Hestra name is known for.

“Ski and snowboard instructors ask more of their hands than almost anyone else on the mountain: teaching, demonstrating, adjusting equipment, and spending long days in the elements,” said James Hampton, President of Hestra North America. “For over 90 years, Hestra has built gloves for exactly that kind of demanding, all-day use, and we’re incredibly proud to partner with PSIA-AASI. Their instructors and coaches play such an important role in creating lifelong skiers and riders, and we’re excited to support the professionals who share their knowledge, passion, and love of snowsports every day.”

Through the partnership, Hestra will support the National Academy and Rider Rally scholarships, sponsor the Educational Excellence Award, and will extend exclusive member pricing and product access to PSIA-AASI’s broader membership. The collaboration will also include educational content on glove care, fit, and cold-weather hand protection; all practical knowledge instructors can pass along to their own students.

Hestra’s gloves combine premium materials, including full-grain and top-grain leathers, with modern technical insulation and waterproofing, giving instructors the dexterity they need to teach while keeping hands warm and dry through long days on snow.

“Our members spend more consecutive hours exposed to cold and moisture than almost any other winter professionals, and glove performance isn’t a luxury for them — it’s a job requirement,” said Jeff Lifgren, CEO of PSIA-AASI. “Hestra has built its reputation over decades on craftsmanship and durability, and that reliability is exactly what our snow pros need on the hill.”

As with our recent Mammut and FALKE partnerships, the principles of our outreach strategy include seeking partners that share our core values and that invest meaningfully in the success of our members. We are proud to welcome Hestra and their leadership team to the family of premier partnerships at PSIA-AASI.
