Local Students Ski and Ride for Free at Windham Mountain
Windham Mountain is offering free ski passes to all students K-12 in the Windham-Ashland-Jewett school district, the local school district to the ski area.
The mountain also created the Ski Tuesday program, which provides students in grades K-6 with free rentals and coaching from Windham Mountain Ski and Ride School’s instructor staff.
“All they need to do is get here, and they’ll be skiing or riding,” said Dan Hogan, Ski and Ride School Director at Windham Mountain. “We’re committed to creating better exposure to the sport while making it accessible for all. The mountain is their backyard, and these kids should be able to enjoy it.”
Through this partnership with the Windham-Ashland-Jewett school district, dozens of youth participating in Ski Tuesday will receive up to four Learn to Ski/Ride sessions across eight weeks at Windham Mountain.
For the first time in the program’s history this year, students will also have the option to choose snowboarding in addition to skiing. Students will receive instruction from the staff at Windham Mountain Kids, the premier Catskills ski and ride school for children ages three to twelve.
With the grand opening of Windham Mountain’s new kids’ facility, Base Camp, the Ski and Ride School team is positioned to help the students of Windham-Ashland-Jewett school district get the most out of their skiing or riding experience this winter.
