In this highlight, we sit down with Webinar Task Force member Angelo Ross.

What task force are you on?

I am on the Webinar Task Force.

Current snowsports job title?

Technical Director for Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, and Laurel Mountain Snowsports Schools in southwestern Pennsylvania; PSIA-AASI Eastern Division Education Staff.

Brief bio?

This is my third year working full-time in the industry again since taking early retirement after twenty years as a public educator. In addition to my role at my home mountains and in the Eastern Division, I am a trainer for SNOW Operating, a guest coach in Mermer Blakeslee’s PowerLearn Program at Windham Mountain, and a member of the National Ski Patrol. My summer gig is Training Specialist and Bicycle Tour Trip Leader for Wilderness Voyageurs, an outfitter in southwestern Pennsylvania.

Current role on the task force?

I represent the Eastern Division and am mostly involved in conversations regarding webinar content and CEUs. I relay ideas between the National Task Force and the Eastern Division’s E-Learning Task Force, where I serve as Chair.

What are the task force’s main goals?

To provide worthwhile online content to our membership with a consistent message representative of all eight divisions. The online format also allows us to tear down some of the walls that geography has built by offering webinars to all members regardless of division affiliation.

Why is it important to work for the benefit of other members?

Because of life, work, family commitments, et cetera, not all PSIA-AASI members are able to be directly involved with operations at the National or divisional level. Those of us who are fortunate enough to be involved, we owe it to those folks to provide them relevant offerings of high quality. Other people did it for us before we were here; now we get to do it for others.

What’s the fun factor?

That’s easy – making new friends and learning new things.
