Ski Instructor/Coach
Job Description:
Share your passion for skiing with the Santa Fe Ski Team at Ski Santa Fe. Our coaches provide the highest level of ski instruction and coaching while promoting a safe, fun and inclusive learning environment. Our program is on Wednesday afternoons, Saturdays and Sundays. We expect our coaches to commit to at least one day per week. The Santa Fe Ski Team takes a break during the December holidays and Spring Break so our coaches and athletes are free to be with family and friends during these times.
The Santa Fe Ski Team is made up of athletes in ages from 6 to 80 years young. Our athletes possess a minimum of a Level 4 skiing ability so our coaches are not spending their time walking around the “Magic Carpet Learning Area” day after day. At this point in time there is no gate training at Ski Santa Fe just at Sipapu. A typical day for a Santa Fe Ski Team coach may have you leading a group through the glades and bumps, working on the first race from the start gate to the first gate, or demonstrating and discussing the benefits of a Flexed versus an Extended Transition. Regardless, whatever group you have will be riding a chairlift and skiing.
Benefits:
Depending on your certification level and experience our coaches can expect to be paid between $20.00 to $40.00 per hour. A season pass at Ski Santa Fe will be provided. We reimburse our coaches for their PSIA and/or USSA dues. And when you are scheduled to work you are paid for the day regardless of how many athletes show or not show up.
Education Required:
The ideal candidate will have at least a PSIA Level I Alpine Certification and/or USSA 100 Certification and enjoy working with athletes of all ages.
