Course Description:
In this 90-minute webinar, you'll learn how nutrition is a key part of the injury recovery process for instructors, including the foods you can eat to help you bounce back from injuries such as breaks, tears, and concussions. You'll also learn when to consider supplements and how they can be beneficial during the recovery process.
This 90-minute webinar will give you the knowledge to:
• Explain how nutrition can impact injury recovery.
• Outline one or two ways to better support your body through the healing process.
• Compare different types of supplements that can help during the recovery process.
About the Speaker:
Makayla Meixner, MS, RDN, is a registered sports dietitian and holds a master of science in nutrition from Central Michigan University. She has more than five years of experience working with recreational and competitive skiers and snowboarders through her online business, Own It Nutrition. Originally from Wisconsin, Makayla's passion for snowboarding brought her to Colorado in 2014. She grew up competing in USASA slopestyle and halfpipe events, is a Snowboard Level I instructor, and spends as much of her free time on the mountain as possible. Her nutrition philosophy is that nutrition doesn't have to be complicated, even for athletes at the highest level. Her goal is to teach you how to fuel for high performance without spending hours in the kitchen or overthinking your food choices.
