Course Description:

Fall Rally is a multisession event with a range of presenters from across the snowsports industry. This year we will have an exciting array of physical activities along with classroom education. In the afternoon there will be an additional session for The NAC challenge course. Fall Rally is mutlidiscipline and designed to build and celebrate our entire snowsports community!

Presented by Collin Bywaters, Alpine DECL, Dr of Physical Therapy


We will explore biomechanics in alpine skiing related to outcomes ranging from carving to skidding. Discussion topics will include ski snow interactions, kinesiology, anatomy, and physics of alpine skiing. A basic understanding of these topics will improve your on snow performance and deepen your understanding of the dynamics of alpine skiing.

Boot designs, anatomy and range of motion of the foot/ankle/leg joint chains, footbeds, some quick fitting tips, then everyone's favorite stance and alignment (fore/aft positions, cuff alignment and canting) considerations for skill development related to PSIA fundamentals.

A must for riders who have never received coaching on the bike or riders who wish to start with an exploration of fundamental body mechanics. You will be introduced to the movements critical to success in more advanced riding situations, such as cornering and obstacle riding.

Led by ed staff member Andrew Johnston, riders will be challenged to develop their air skills using props and jumps. This session is suitable for advanced riders with bikes that are designed to perform in jumps, etc.

Learn to develop an effective training plan through effective goal setting. We will touch on the personal training approach and how to implement goals into training frameworks. Explore teaching vs training and how goal implementation may differ by recognizing skill acquisition, skill retention, and skill refinement. We will discuss the accountability measures and how to create action targets towards the goal.
