There is no free parking at Solitude. We recommend you park in the Park and Ride lots and take the bus or carpool .The daily parking plan is tiered based on vehicle occupancy. It's $20 for a vehicle holding one or two people, $10 for three occupants and $5 for vehicles with four or more people in it. Information on the UTA Ski Bus service can be found on their website.

Course Description:
Come challenge yourself, explore the fundamentals of skiing and improve your performance!
This event will feature 5 stations. Each station will feature a drill designed to specifically challenge one of the 5 PSIA skiing fundamental. Two PSIA-Intermountain Examiners will score your performance at each station, give individual feedback, allow for practice and then re-score your final performance.
Here are the 5 drill stations listed by skiing fundamental, a link to a video example and the key feature for each drill.
1. Pressure Control (fore-aft) - Dolphin Turn

Key feature: During each hop the ski tips come off of the snow first and land first.
2. Pressure Control (outside ski) - Stork Turns/Outside Ski Turns

Key feature: Each turn is made balanced exclusively on the outside ski with the inside ski lifted.
3. Pressure Control (magnitude) - Pole Jumper

Key feature: The entire length of the ski clears the pole during each hop.
4. Rotary Control (leg Steering) Straight Run to Sideslip with Edge Set

Key features: Both skis are pivoted simultaneously into a sideslip. The same width corridor is maintained during the straight run, pivot, sideslip and edge set.
5. Edge Control (inclination/angulation) - Railroad Track Turn

Key feature: the ski tails follow the exact same track as the ski tips/no skidding.
