What inspired you to become an instructor? The thought of teaching the winter sport I love was appealing.
What keeps you coming back to teach every year? The availability of clinics to improve my teaching and personal riding are invaluable. I also appreciate Stevens Pass working with my schedule.
What stands out about your teaching? I’m not afraid to make mistakes, and use them as teaching examples. Letting my students know that even instructors have room to improve.
What’s one accessory, tool, or education resource you keep in your pocket? iPhone 8 with camera and PSIA-AASI App.
Is there an “insider tip” you’d share with new members? Participate in school clinics and regional events whenever possible.
Describe a teaching or learning experience that sticks out in your mind. The joy on students’ faces when they learn to link their turns.
Where can we find you in the summers? And doing what? On the streets and trails of Seattle, half marathon training.
Anything else we missed? Attaining my Level III snowboard certification remains my goal. Two modules remain.
