Meet the Amazing Instructors Heading to 2024 PSIA-AASI Team Selection

More than 100 incredibly talented snowsports instructors from across the country are packing their skis, snowboards, goggles, gloves, and guts and heading to Big Sky, Montana, next week for perhaps the biggest test of their teaching careers, a shot at making the 2024-28 PSIA-AASI National Team.

“Every one of these instructors is a leader in their snowsports schools and at their local mountains,” said PSIA-AASI National Team Coach Jeb Boyd. “We’re flattered that they are constantly working to get better at every aspect of their teaching and riding, and that they have the dedication and commitment to test themselves at the highest level, because they are the engine that drives our association.”

If you haven’t heard, PSIA-AASI Team Selection is a comprehensive process through which PSIA-AASI selects members of the national team. Candidates participate in extensive evaluations including presentations on snowsports instruction, teaching, coaching, and technical skills on snow – all under the watchful eyes of selectors assigned to separate the very best from the best.

Each individual heading to Montana next week has dreams as big as Lone Peak and has worked for years honing their craft to earn the opportunity to even try out for the team. Season after season they have earned advanced certifications, helped students and colleagues develop new skills, and earned the endorsement of those peers to be considered for the team.

While they’ve still got their eye on the big prize, everyone at PSIA-AASI would like to applaud them for making it this far. It’s an incredible accomplishment, and the entire association is proud of them.

“I highly commend the individuals trying out for the 2024-28 PSIA-AASI National Team in their dedication to our profession and their passion for our association,” said PSIA-AASI CEO Peggy Hiller. “Taking the personal initiative to strive for the national team, including the training, dedicating the time to try out, and putting in the work to receive the endorsement from their home region is no easy feat. I want to congratulate each candidate trying out for the team. PSIA-AASI is stronger because of you.”
