Volkswagen Women’s Soccer Jersey Winner + Offseason Workout Tips
Congratulations to PSIA-AASI member Ashley Louie, who won a U.S. Women’s Soccer training jersey provided by PSIA-AASI Official Automotive Partner Volkswagen.
Volkswagen, whose innovative 4Motion AWD vehicles provide snow pros with the ultimate all-season ride, provided the jersey to celebrate the official kickoff of the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France.
For a chance to win the jersey, members were asked to use PSIA-AASI’s social media channels to describe their favorite offseason workout.
Louie wrote, “With a mixture of indoor and outdoor soccer, rock climbing, hiking, weight training, bike riding, and physical therapy gotta stay healthy and keep in shape to conquer the winter adventures!”
Here are some of the workout tips other members shared:
“Mountains! Ski them in the winter and run them in the summer. I compete in the New England Mtn Running series USATF and am running Mt Washington in two weeks!” – Nancy E. Peck-Cook
“Does laying 400 square feet of new floor tile count?” – Eric J Schultz
“In February, I took a five-day backcountry cat ski trip in Canada with my son and 11 other expert skiers/riders approximately his age or younger. To get in shape so I could (mostly) keep up with them, by November 1, I had worked up to 500 crunches a day. I have kept up those crunches every day since. I try to do some kind of exercise every day in the off-season: golf (walking the course), cardio in the gym, long walks. I lift other weights several times a week, and get PT for the muscle, soft tissue problems. I regularly do a meditation, which is like a Hatha Yoga. It takes a lot of work to keep the original factory parts going at 72.” – Bill Hirsh
“Running with my dogs helps keep my cardio up!” – Loren Brazel
“I love mountain biking all year!” – Mia Hayashida Fisher
“My summer workout is clearing brush at my resort. Free workout at altitude on the steeps!” – David Beazer
