Registration Now Open for Ski Spectacular Instructor Academy
Reserve your spot for the Ski Spectacular Instructor Academy (formerly known as PSIA-AASI Adaptive Academy) taking place December 4 through 10 in Breckenridge, Colorado as part of the Hartford Ski Spectacular. Hosted by Move United, The Hartford Ski Spectacular is one of the nation’s largest winter sports festivals for people with disabilities, with more than 800 registered participants annually.
The event is endorsed by PSIA-AASI. Examiners, clinicians, and members of the PSIA-AASI Adaptive Team will present the latest in adapted ski and snowboard teaching methods. Programs are offered for all disciplines and levels.
“This is a great opportunity for instructors to keep growing their coaching skills with continuing education clinics, get the latest information on how the new adaptive standards apply to you as a pro, and even help grow the sport by working with members of the Move United Warfighters program,” said PSIA-AASI Director of Education Dave Schuiling.
Each year as part of the Move United Warfighters program, The Hartford Ski Spectacular welcomes a special group of individuals who have recently sustained a life-changing disability.
Another group of special guests are the Race Camp youth scholarship recipients. These young racers are given the opportunity to attend a full week of the Race Camp and learn from the best disabled skiers, snowboarders, and coaches in the country.
Dave said, “This entire event is about getting more people on snow and giving them the skills to grow as participants and as instructors.”
PSIA-AASI members can earn a minimum of 3 continuing education units for every half day clinic they participate in during the event, and up to 24 CEUs if they register for the full four-day workshop.
Check the Program Information and Clinic Curriculum page for rates and schedule then register. Early-bird rates close Oct. 2.
