Horst helped develop PSIA’s American Teaching Method (ATM) in the 1960s. With its focus on the guest as well as skills, ATM has become the backbone of American ski instruction and influenced snowsports instruction around the world. Horst also wrote Skiing Right, an early ski education resource, and was inducted into the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in 2012.

In the Tea Talk – scheduled for Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 6 – 7 p.m. (MST) – Stacey and Horst will discuss his history as an instructor and how to create an environment for optimal learning.
