Applications Open for the Nancy Oakes Hall Women’s Scholarship
Applications are now open for the Nancy Oakes Hall Women’s Scholarship, which offers three separate scholarships each season.
One scholarship covers attendance at PSIA-AASI’s academies (alpine, snowboard, telemark, or adaptive); another covers attendance at the Women’s Summit; and the third helps offset expenses related to attending a PSIA-AASI education event.
Founded by former PSIA Alpine Team Member (1992-96) Nancy Oakes Hall, this scholarship enables women in PSIA-AASI to advance their skills and seek leadership roles in the industry.
“The value of this scholarship is the monetary support for individuals, and the opportunity for applicants to reflect on their personal values and commitments to grow and influence others,” said Carol Levine, a former PSIA Alpine Team member and recipient of the 2017 Educational Excellence Award. “Nancy realized that founding a scholarship would provide women a clear and accessible career pathway to leave the greatest impact.”
Nancy, who passed away in 2018 after a hard-fought battle with cancer, worked hard to achieve her goals. Her motto was she wanted to be the best version of herself. She ski raced in her youth and later taught skiing, designed ski wear, and created exceptional art. Through her many accomplishments she developed a desire to create a women’s scholarship to “pay it forward” in the ways her mentors and friends helped her. She also had a vision – to see more women involved in education and leadership roles in PSIA-AASI.
“And Nancy did it!” said Carol. “She would be thrilled by the numbers of applicants who have powerful values and drive to advance their professional skills.”
Submit your application and materials for the scholarship by, or before, 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022. Late applications or applications missing materials will not be considered.
