Team Member Summer Adventures: Lyndsey Stevens
Catch up with PSIA-AASI National Team members as they share their summer adventures and how it keeps them on their game for winter. Here’s how AASI Snowboard Team member Lyndsey Stevens is spending her summer.
How have you been spending your summer?
When the snow melted, I got myself back into the gym to work on strength training. I enjoy working out as therapeutic – and being physically ready for winter is a bonus!
What’s your big summer adventure?
Some instructor friends invited me to join them on a trip to Croatia, so I spent two weeks island hopping around the Adriatic Sea. It was an incredible vacation. I felt like I was living in a museum every day, but then when the museum got hot, I got to jump into the sea to cool down. In the evenings I sampled more gelato flavors than you could imagine existed.
What are some of your favorite off-season activities?
I like to mountain bike, hike, golf, and wake surf.
How does this keep you physically and mentally engaged in the offseason?
I’ve enjoyed learning more about sports other than snowboarding. It gives me a greater understanding of physical things that people like to do. As an instructor, I find this incredibly valuable, both for connecting with people and building teaching for transfer skills.
