Team Member Summer Adventures: Brenna Kelleher
Catch up with PSIA-AASI National Team members as they share their summer adventures and how it keeps them on their game for winter. Here’s what PSIA Alpine Team member Brenna Kelleher has been doing this summer.
What’s been your go-to summer activity or big summer adventure?
This is the first summer I chose to stay in Montana and not travel to Oregon to coach skiing with my sister.
In addition to ski instruction, my other job is working as a real estate agent. I keep busy helping people find their new homes. I’m also working on an attainable housing development in the area, which has led to some great new learning experiences and life lessons.
Activity wise, I stay busy multi-sporting! (My new word.) I try to get out and do something every day; whether it is whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, running, or horseback riding. Being outdoors is key to my sanity.
In keeping with my fitness, I also spend at least three days a week at a local gym. The core goal being functional fitness. Keeping my feet, mind, and body sharp for ski season.
Also, this spring I made it to Spain! It was a longtime goal to try and learn kiteboarding. Pre-Covid I had signed up for a kiteboarding camp there, and I finally made it this year. Starting a new sport is challenging and rewarding all in the same. I learned more about how I want to approach some of my core beliefs in skiing and how I can better teach it.
Finally, this fall I will be returning to the south for some skiing. I am headed to Argentina to coach racing. It will be my first time to Argentina and I am looking forward to the new experiences and being on snow.
