Brenna’s Goals for the Season
Goals: In terms of professional growth, I’m currently working on dialing in my language and how I present information. I find sometimes I can get lost in how I present information when teaching new material or aspects of skiing I’m personally developing. When I focus on simplifying my wording of how I describe these concepts to myself, it transfers more easily to others when I present the information.
Resources to Use: I continue to self-critique through group engagement and feedback, based on ski performance and whether outcomes are successful. I also use personal feedback.
How You can Use this Plan: Good teaching stems from being taught well. Good teaching comes from the teacher’s understanding of the material and their willingness to continually learn as well as change, or alter, what is needed for the desired outcome. If instructors have extraordinary material and experiences, then they too excel.
