Ski & Boot Tech 101

This first session in the 3-part webinar series introduces you to ski and ski boot equipment. During the session, you’ll learn about ski technology basics, construction, and how these affect how your skis perform. You’ll also receive tips about the basics of buying a boot, how your boots should fit, what you should look for in a ski boot, and more.

Ski Boot Deep Dive

This second session helps you learn about ski boot fit and performance issues, steps you can take to correct those issues, and why fixing those problems can help you, as well as your students, ski better. The session also explains what you need to do once you have your new ski boots. For example, why you should add a footbed into your boots; what “cuff alignment” and “cantology” adjustments mean and how they can solve fit problems. You’ll also learn about topics such as “forward lean” and “ankle biometrics” which essentially means how your ski boots flex. And, you’ll walk away knowing how to customize your boots and resolve problems if you boots are too stiff or too soft.

Teaching to Women

This final session focuses on teaching women to ski, including physical and psychological factors with a focus on using fear as a positive teaching tool. You’ll earn 1 CEU and learn about topics such as:

  • Identifying physical situation with possible solution
  • Focusing on the psychological aspects of teach women
  • Using fear as a learning method
  • Leading all women groups vs. a co-ed group, and the impact a male presence has on how women learn
  • Teaching men when you’re a female instructor
