DESCRIPTION: This module is for ALL SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTORS (at all levels) wishing to explore snowboard movements and use those observations to build lesson plans. This course can be taken as either a one-day or two-day clinic; however, we encourage attending both!\n\nDay one is focused on breaking down snowboard movement analysis and building an instructor's ability to observe, analyze, and prescribe during a lesson.\nDay two is focused on taking the practiced skills from day-one and applying them directly to an instructor's teaching. Often times, we as instructors spend too much time talking during our lessons, which can create an inefficient learning environment for our students. In the famous words of our AASI-Central Snowboard Team, the goal of day two is: LESS SAID, MORE SHRED. If you struggle with movement analysis, lesson plans, talking too much, or simply want to improve your teaching skills in preparation for upper-level certification, this course is definitley for you!\n\nWhy: Being able to observe movements in snowboarding, understand their cause and effect, and build effective learning outcomes, is critical to snowboarding development and continuing to foster and excitement for snowboard learning and growth.\n \nWhat: This module will work to develop a simple movement analysis tool to help participants learn how to look at turns, what they should be looking for at different phases of the turn, and how to communicate what they see effectively. Participants will work in small groups to practice observing each other’s snowboarding, give and receive feedback, and utilize that feedback to build progressions based on the Six Fundamentals of Snowboarding.\n \nHow: This course will have participants observing fellow participants' movements, exploring their own movements, and developing real-life, real-time progressions to foster performance growth. The participants will experience various turn shapes and snowboarding tasks to best build their skill sets and accurately create change with snowboarders.\nWe look forward to shredding with you!
