Winter Activities And Sales Director

Are you passionate about winter sports and creating unforgettable guest experiences? We are seeking a Winter Activities Director to join our team at a luxury cross country ski resort, golf, spa, and dude ranch in Eastern Oregon. As the Winter Activities Director, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and enhancing our winter recreation offerings. You will oversee a team of activity staff, instructors, and guides, and ensure the safety and satisfaction of our guests during their winter adventures. Your role will involve organizing a range of winter sports and outdoor activities, delivering instruction and guidance, and fostering a welcoming environment that exceeds guest expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive winter activities program for guests of all ages and skill levels.
• Coordinate and supervise a team of activity staff, instructors, and guides.
• Organize and schedule a variety of winter sports and outdoor activities, including cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding, and more.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of guests during all activities, following established protocols and guidelines.
• Provide instruction and guidance to guests, including lessons and clinics for beginners and advanced participants.
• Maintain and manage rental equipment, ensuring availability and proper functioning.
• Collaborate with other resort departments to integrate winter activities with overall guest experiences, such as spa services, dining, and accommodations.
• Monitor weather and snow conditions, adjusting activities and schedules accordingly.
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for guests, ensuring a high level of customer service at all times.
• Handle guest inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide assistance as needed.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury resort setting.
• Strong knowledge and passion for winter sports, particularly cross country skiing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members.
• Proven leadership and organizational abilities, with the capability to manage a team and coordinate multiple activities.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
• Proficiency in outdoor safety practices and emergency response procedures.
• Familiarity with eastern Oregon’s winter landscape and local cross country skiing community is a plus.
• Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service and creating memorable experiences.

Full time year around salaried position, housing available, health insurance-full benefits, retirement, salary range $80-120K depending on experience.
