Ski & Ride School Assistant Director/Training Coordinator

Location: Eldora Mountain Resort, Nederland, Colorado

Type of Job: Supervisory, Full-Time, 10-month 

Salary and Benefits: Hiring range starts at $50,000 (annualized), but DOE 

Job Description:

The Ski & Ride School Assistant Director/Training Coordinator will work with the Ski & Ride School Director, other SRS managers + supervisors, and a team of 195 staff, to continue to foster our Learning Community Culture and support our Snow Pros with innovative, effective and fun training opportunities and programs.  This position will be a hybrid of developing and administering staff training, leading and auditing clinics, continuously evaluating effectiveness of our training programs, and occasionally teaching our guests. 
  • Assistant Director duties include, but are not limited to (sometimes in the absence of the Director), being responsible for the overall guest and staff experience with the Ski & Ride School – personnel management (hiring, training, professional development, and counseling) – monitor and maintain quality and appearance of facilities and teaching terrain zones (signage, teaching terrain, locker rooms), ensure the highest quality guest relations and experience, model and encourage professional standards, counsel staff when necessary, and manage daily operations. 

Experience Required:

  • to 5 years minimum staff training experience working in a Ski & Ride School 
  • PSIA-AASI Level III certification 
  • PSIA-AASI Children’s Specialist certification Level I
  • Advocate for and solid experience with Terrain Based Teaching principles and concepts 
  • Excellent, teamwork, communication and guest service skills 
  • 3 to 5 years minimum Supervisory and/or Managerial level experience 
  • Microsoft Office proficiency 
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills 
  • Must be: An excellent skier/rider with technical knowledge of skiing/snowboarding and snowsports safety 
  • Able to work long and irregular hours including weekends and holidays 
  • Pass a background check  

Education Required: 

  • College degree/experience in a relevant field 
  • PSIA-AASI RMT or equivalent 
  • PSIA-AASI CS 2 (Preferred)
  • Online training technology experience
