Ski and Ride School Support Staff Lead

Summary of Job:

The Ski and Ride School Support Staff Lead is responsible for leading the Ski and Ride School Support Staff and Instructor Aides.  This includes scheduling and directing daily activities in support of the day-to-day operations of the Ski and Ride School. The Lead is responsible for ensuring the image, appearance, and functionality of indoor facilities and outdoor teaching areas, including daily set up and tear down, lunch service, and assistance with check-in and check-out procedures of child students. They will also spend time with small children performing indoor activities, assisting in ski school classes on-hill when necessary to help motivate children when necessary.  Support Staff Lead will also help support operational teams with payroll and other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
·       Utilize available resources to monitor and maintain the quality of the Ski and Ride School facilities, support lessons, and ensure smooth operations.

·       Manage staffing levels to daily needs for Support Staff and Instructor Aides.

  • Working with small children to facilitate appropriate games and activities in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Assist with ski school classes and discovery guide as necessary.

·       Monitor and review employee performance on a regular basis.

·       Work with the Senior Manager and Managers to support and achieve Guest Experience targets for the success of the overall Ski & Ride School.

·       Understand, lead and model safety standards within the department.

·       Establish and review mutual seasonal goals and performance objectives with Instructor Aides and Support Staff, providing feedback and coaching.

·       Communicate effectively with leadership, peers and other departments to create an environment of support and trust that will benefit staff and guests.

·       Understand, lead and model the Company’s mission, vision and values.

·       Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:  (Identify the MINIMUM education, experience, etc. required to perform the job. 

                                    Be specific.  Example for Supervisory Experience:  5 years experience in managing staff at supervisory level.)

  • Previous experience working with children
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency
  • RPOS
  • Fluent verbal and written communication in English
  • Able to work in and built cross functional teams
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing environments
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Teaching Experience (ski and ride school or equivalent)
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Ability to ski and/or snowboard at an intermediate level
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  (Indicate specifics of other job requirements.)
Indoor/Outdoor: Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Hazardous Materials/Noise: No hazardous materials but noise exposure to snowmaking and grooming equipment
Equipment Used in Job: Appropriate alpine ski or snowboard equipment that includes clothing, boots, bindings, skis or board, radio, computer, phone, fax, race equipment, video and photographic equipment
Holidays/Weekends/Evenings: Required to work as needed, including holidays, weekends and some evenings.
