The Director of Progression & Programming (WWPC) is an essential member of Woodward Park City’s senior leadership team (SLT), reporting to the General Manager of Woodward Park City with oversight from the Woodward VP of Camps & Programming. The successful applicant will oversee programming and instruction for a variety of year-round sports both indoors and outdoors. This includes but is not limited to snowsports, wheeled sports, and acrobatic sports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership & Programming:

  • Lead, develop and continually enhance the progression and dynamic programming strategy for Woodward Park City–attracting, engaging, and retaining a passionate community of skiers/riders, campers, mountain bikers and action sports enthusiasts.
  • With your team, execute progressive teaching and programming processes using Woodward’s innovative environments. This includes terrain-based teaching, indoor facility programming, progressive park features and unique attributes.
  • Accelerate Woodward programming’s role as a catalyst for community building, brand loyalty and achieving overall business performance goals.
  • Manage staffing, training, and evaluation of all programming personnel to ensure safe, fun, effective and professionally competent operations that are aligned with Woodward’s vision, values, and mission.

Interpersonal Skills & Business Operations:

  • Communicate continuously and work closely with the Woodward Operations team in service of seamless guest experiences.
  • Work with fellow SLT members and Woodward leadership to build and execute against a successful budget for day-to-day operations, program participation as well as any associated capital projects.
  • Maintain proficient understanding of legal and risk management issues in collaboration with POWDR Risk Manager.

Preferred Experience/Special Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience, including management, in related field.
  • Teaching, coaching, and/or instructional certifications.
  • CPR, AED and First Aid certifications
  • SafeSport certification
  • Proficiency in leadership, mountain operations, and in-depth knowledge in progression learning and programming.
  • Proven ability to collaborate well across departments and to motivate and lead teams into achieving their goals.

Basic Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50lbs.
  • Must be comfortable working in an outdoor all-season environment.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Willing to travel as needed.
