Course Description:


Required: Internet connection, speakers, webcam and computer/tablet/smart phone.


This course combines the movement MATRIX using Tip, Twist and Bend analysis and OEP, with the concepts and practices presented in the PSIA-AASI Teaching Snowsports Manual. The course is presented over three two - hour sessions in an e-learning format utilizing student profiles and video segments of skiers at various levels of development.


Participants will observe and learn from the Ed Staff facilitator in session one. Contribute to discovering student motivation, suggestion for lesson path, and to ensure student motivation is met through a playful experience with Ed Staff guidance in session two and develop complete student-centered lesson plans in session three to meet the student's motivation.


At the completion of this course, the participants should be able to demonstrate an understanding of how capable instructors personalize their content and delivery to match the student profile. Factors that may change to meet the students profile include but are not limited to: lesson pace, drills/exercises, and terrain.


Participants interested in taking this course must have completed at least one of the prerequisites below:


  • Successful completion of "Did You See That" webinar series (Highly Recommended)
  • Alpine Level II Alpine Certification or Higher (Or have passed the Alpine Level II Movement Analysis Exam Module)
  • Completion of Central's On-Snow Movement Analysis and Progression Building Course


To receive credits a participant must complete all three sessions and assigned homework for each.

Sessions will be held from 8:00 PM to 10:00 Eastern Time - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Central Time. Teaching Effectively” is an interactive e-learning event for PSIA-AASI certified members who have completed the “Did You See That” Course and are interested in further development of their applied Teaching Skills.

Course credits completed after July 1st and before June 30th, 2023, will be applied to the 2022-2023 season.
