Course Description:

Like many PSIA-AASI members, you may be curious to learn more about telemark skiing and its unique culture. In this 90-minute webinar, PSIA-AASI National Telemark Task Force member Marc Schanfarber will introduce you to telemark skiing, provide a brief history of the discipline, and compare and contrast telemark to other disciplines, highlighting how movements translate.

Marc will also provide testimonials from those who have crossed over to telemark and why they did so. Finally, he'll discuss where you can rent gear and some of the places it can be demoed throughout the country.

This 90-minute webinar will give you the knowledge to:

  • Explain what telemark skiing is and its similarities/differences to other disciplines
  • Compare transferable movements and skills between telemark and alpine, cross country, and snowboard disciplines
  • Outline how and where you can experience telemark skiing, including demo events, festivals, and learning opportunities
