Did You See That?!- Performance Skiing* takes our popular Alpine Movement Analysis course up a notch, looking at tactics and techniques for maximizing ski performance in a variety of tasks. This course is designed around those seeking Level III certification, but members of all levels may participate.
Over three evenings, members and the course conductor will identify the 5 fundamentals of Alpine Skiing throughout 3 phases of the turn. They will take note of Skills and Common Threads in a systematic approach to evaluation, description, and prescription in performance skiing. In Did You See That?! Performance Skiing, participants will employ the O.E.P. (Observe, Evaluate, Prescribe) model to assess the ski and body performance and the D.I.R.T. model to understand how skill application varies tactically and situationally. Be prepared to have your concepts challenged and focus refined in this exciting assessment of dynamic skiing.
After the course, participants should be able to describe the tactical application of skills in performance skiing, assess the suitability of that blend, and recommend changes to enhance a ski performance.
