ADAPTIVE ACADEMY

Attending Adaptive Academy will help you grow both your technical skills and teaching techniques with three focused and personalized days on snow. You will be coached by members or alumni of the PSIA-AASI National Team while networking with and learn new ways of teaching from fellow professionals from across the U.S.

About Copper Mountain

Copper Mountain is called the "Athletes Mountain" for a reason. Copper features 2,538 acres with a summit at 12,441 feet. This season, it is home to the Stifel Copper Cup, including World Cup alpine ski racing for both men and women.

An expert trail at Copper may be significantly steeper and longer than one at your home resort. The mountain has something to offer all abilities from long, beautifully groomed cruising terrain to rowdy, extreme terrain. You may also encounter more challenging snow conditions, higher altitudes, and extreme weather conditions.

First time attending Academy?

You must select the pace and terrain you prefer to ski/ride during your registration. You will be assigned a coach on the first night after the welcome reception (be sure to attend!) based off your preferences selected during registration. Please consider Copper's terrain and honestly assess your capabilities to limit injury risk and maximize enjoyment. We want all attendees to have a safe, fun week!

Your clinic leader will assess your goals to ensure the group is a good fit and you will have the option to change groups. Indoor and on-snow elective opportunities allow you to take a break and/or try new things and network with others.

Looking for another discipline?

Adaptive Academy is an adaptive-specific event integrated into the larger National Academy. If you would like to attend the 5-day academy for either alpine or snowboard, or the 3-day academy for telemark, please register specifically for one of those discipline events. Remember, you must have at least a Level I certification in the relevant discipline to attend.

Cross Country Academy is three days at Mt. Bachelor in Oregon, and takes place the week following National Academy in Colorado.

Cancellation Policy:

• Full refund through Jan. 31
• Cancel Feb. 1 - Feb. 28 is $250 penalty
• Cancel March 1 and later - no refund



Waitlist Policy:

If Adaptive Academy reaches capacity, an online waitlist will be available to allow further registrations in case any participants cancel. Follow the link on the calendar's event page to join the waitlist. A credit card on file is required in order to join the waitlist. Note that you will be automatically registered and charged for the event if a spot opens up. Your cost for the event will be locked in at the rate of the event the moment you join the waitlist.

If you add yourself to a waitlist, please remember that you are committing to attending that event should you get a spot.

• If a spot opens up in the event at least 1 month before the start date, you will automatically be enrolled, and your credit card will be charged for the event.
• You will receive two notification emails, one confirming the event and one confirming the credit card charge.
• You will NOT automatically be cancelled from the waitlist if you are registered for another event on the same day.

You can cancel yourself from the waitlist at any time. If you need assistance removing yourself from the waitlist you can email or call us to be removed from the waitlist. Members on the waitlist are subject to following the cancellation policy if you get moved into the event. Generally, this means that it is risky to put yourself on multiple waitlists for the same day, or the same event type within two weeks of each other.
