Attending National Academy will help you:

• Get your ski on for five days of big-mountain skiing with a member or alumni of the PSIA-AASI National Team.
• Get the inside track on innovations shaping the future of instruction.
• Network with, and learn new ways of teaching from, fellow ski professionals who share your passion for the ski experience.
• Take your game up a notch with personalized coaching and improvement.

Big Sky is one of the most challenging resorts in North America, and an expert trail here may be significantly steeper and longer than one at your home resort. The mountain has something to offer all abilities from long, beautifully groomed cruising terrain to rowdy, extreme terrain. Along with these trail difficulties, you may also encounter more challenging snow conditions, higher altitudes, and extreme weather conditions.

If this is your first time attending Academy it's important to note that you'll need to select the pace and terrain you prefer to ski during your registration. You will be assigned a coach Sunday evening of Academy based off your preferences selected during registration. Please consider these variables and honestly assess your capabilities to limit injury risk. We want all attendees to have a safe, fun week!

Your clinic leader will assess your goals at the event to ensure the group is a good fit. You will have the option to move groups if necessary. Indoor and on snow elective opportunities allow you to take a break and/or branch out and mingle with others on different educational topics.

New this year! Lift tickets will be purchased directly through Big Sky. You will receive a link closer to the event to purchase your discounted lift tickets if you need them!

National Academy is an alpine-specific event.

If you would like to attend the 5-day academy for telemark or adaptive disciplines, please register for either Telemark Academy or Adaptive Academy.

If you would like to attend the 3-day academy for snowboard, please register for Rider Rally. Rider Rally will be the following week at Copper Mountain in Colorado.

Cancellation Policy:

• Full refund through Jan. 31
• Cancel Feb. 1 - Feb. 28 is $250 penalty
• Cancel March 1 and later - no refund

Waitlist Policy:

If National Academy reaches capacity, an online waitlist will be available to allow further registrations in case any participants cancel. Follow the link on the calendar's event page to join the waitlist. A credit card on file is required in order to join the waitlist. Note that you will be automatically registered and charged for the event if a spot opens up. Your cost for the event will be locked in at the rate of the event the moment you join the waitlist.

If you add yourself to a waitlist, please remember that you are committing to attending that event should you get a spot.

• If a spot opens up in the event at least 1 month before the start date, you will automatically be enrolled, and your credit card will be charged for the event.
• You will receive two notification emails, one confirming the event and one confirming the credit card charge.
• You will NOT automatically be cancelled from the waitlist if you are registered for another event on the same day.

You can cancel yourself from the waitlist at any time. If you need assistance removing yourself from the waitlist you can email or call us to be removed from the waitlist. Members on the waitlist are subject to following the cancellation policy if you get moved into the event. Generally, this means that it is risky to put yourself on multiple waitlists for the same day, or the same event type within two weeks of each other.
