All participants in winter events at Park City are required to wear a helmet. If you do not wear a helmet you will not be able to attend the event you signed up for. If you do not have a helmet, Park City will provide them free of charge at the rental shop on the day of the event. Course Description:
Description - Technical Skills clinic, full day on-snow. Most skiing will be on groomed terrain. Qualifies as continuing education or assessment preparation.
Continuing Education/Assessment Preparation Goals
- Impact overall performance through improved understanding and application of the alpine technical fundamentals
- Improve Edge Control and alignment to the outside ski
Clinic Outcome - By the end of this clinic the participant will be able to carve turns during which the outside ski has its highest edge angle and the upper body is aligned to the outside ski during the shaping phase of the turn.
Clinic Experiences - During this clinic:
- The clinic leader will describe and demonstrate activities
- Participants will use activities to create awareness about edging & lateral balance skills
- Participants will apply specific awareness to carved turns
- The clinic leader will provide feedback and structure practice for carving
- Reflect on improve understanding or ability to edge the outside ski and/or balance over the outside ski
