Course Description:

Looking to better understand the impact of equipment choices and modifications on ski performance? With an introduction to bootfitting practices and on-hill experiences that illustrate the merits of well adjusted boots, bindings and skis, certified instructors can gain the knowledge to take their personal performance and lessons to the next level. Through indoor and on-hill activities, a team of professionals will help you explore equipment modifications including canting, heel/toe lifts, shims and more. A professional bootfitter and education staff will partner to deliver an in-depth stance and alignment experience.

Learning Experiences:

Specific activities will vary depending on the group's needs and environmental conditions and typically include:

• Indoor presentations from professional bootfitter(s) outlining principles of bootfitting

• On-hill activities to highlight bootfitting ideals, anomalies and deficiencies

• Guided group discussions

Learning Outcomes:

• General understanding of boot fitting principles

• Ability to recognize impacts of stance and alignment in others

• Ability to recognize impacts of stance and alignment in personal performance

Prerequisite(s):

Discipline Level I Certified
