Course Description:
Looking to develop the skills to play and teach in entry level terrain parks? Open to certified pros, this 1-day event is a great way build-up your freestyle skills in a relaxed environment. Starting with flatland tricks, participants will build their way up to jumps, boxes and/or rails with pacing to match the group's confidence and ability. Learn how to incorporate these principles into your lessons to take your students' experience to the next level.
Learning Experiences:
Specific activities will vary depending on the group's needs and environmental conditions and typically include:
• A review of proper safety and etiquette in the park environment.
• Use of freestyle building blocks to improve individual performance.
• Identify and implement elements of movement analysis as they relate to observation, evaluation and prescription.
• Receive individual, specific feedback.
Learning Outcomes:
• A basic understanding of terrain park safety best practices
• Understand cause and effect relationships between body movement and equipment performance.
• Ability to incorporate freestyle elements in lesson plans
• Improved understanding of personal performance in terrain parks
Prerequisite(s): Level I Certified
Equipment/Materials Needed: Twin tip skis are recommended, but not required.
