Course Description (CEN-Women in Snowsports Symposium ):

Description Day One February 13: [Alpine]

Snowboarders interested in attending Day One - please contact heidiettlinger@gearingtogo.com for options!

Professional development for women seeking Level 2 and Level 3 alpine certification, aspiring or

current resort-trainers, and those pursuing an Education Staff pathway. Start the day with a custom gear evaluation including off-the-shelf boot fitting aids, ski selection/current ski preferences, and the value of accurate ski tuning. On-snow activities will include an emphasis on technical skills and becoming a communication specialist with a deep dive into skill acquisition progressions (video optional). Indoor presentations will unpack a foundation for self-training techniques enhancing one's understanding of biomechanics as it relates to ski and body performance and applying these to movement analysis skills. All participants will receive a custom training program and follow-up resources.

Description Day Two February 14: [Alpine and Snowboard]

Professional development to support women as instructors, mentors, trainers, leaders, and life-long learners. The day will begin with mapping out your interests and customizing the itinerary for

individual and group goals. On-snow activities will include a combination of technical skill

development with optional video and growing a communication toolbox for a wide variety of

audiences including women specific programming. Lunchtime will include an indoor workshop on

becoming an Agent of Change for women in snowsports. Explore research that impacts how you

develop a leadership persona for yourself and others with a guide to credibility strategies. The

afternoon session will explore unique considerations for coaching women's skill acquisition. Training activities will include the importance of empowering gear know-how, the impact of physiological and psychological factors, and opportunities to enhance the learning environment. All participants will receive a digital packet with materials shared during the event.
