Course Description:
Dust off the cobwebs- review and refresh your skills on sit-down equipment, practice
guiding students with no or low vision, hone your teaching skills for all lessons, including those involving cognitive diagnoses.
Possible Workshop Outcomes (based on available terrain/resources and group needs):
1. Identify the five alpine fundamental movements.
2. Assist with safe tethering techniques for sit-down and stand-up skiers.
3. Explain the beginning progression for mono skiers.
4. Guide with no or low vision on beginner and intermediate terrain.
5. Cite three cognitive diagnoses.
6. Describe three adaptive teaching tools that can be used during lessons for people with cognitive
diagnoses.
7. Identify appropriate candidates for ski bikes.
8. Apply lesson progressions to teaching scenarios.
