Course Description:
LEARN TO SKI THE SIT-SKI Prerequisites: None
Course description:
This one-day clinic is designed for all ski and snowboard instructors who wish to learn how to ski in a sit-ski (also known as a bi-ski, mono-ski, or dual-ski). Participants learn basic sit-ski progressions, and their experience teaches them the most effective movements for skiing in a sit-ski. Participants will be divided into groups, so they experience both skiing in a sit-ski and supporting the sit-skier.
To participate in this clinic, you must:
- Be able to safely ski or snowboard on green and blue terrain and safely use chair lifts and rope tows.
- Have the physical strength to assist fellow participants who may fall while skiing in the sit-ski.
Note: For safety and equipment maintenance reasons, participants who weigh over 250 pounds are welcome to participate in this clinic, but they may not ski in the sit-ski.
Upon successful completion of this clinic (and with additional practice), you will be able to:
- Teach a beginning sit-ski lesson.
- Ski in a sit-ski.
- Understand the difference between a rotary progression and an edging progression for sit-skiers.
