Course Description:

Description: Technical Skills Clinic, Full Day, On-Snow


Assessment Prep Goal: This clinic will prepare candidates for parallel skiing expected at the Level 2 standard on groomed intermediate and advanced terrain.


Continuing Education Goal: Improve parallel skiing on intermediate and advanced groomed terrain.


Clinic Outcomes: By the end of this clinic, participants will be able to:

  • Link a series of parallel turns in intermediate and advanced groomed terrain.
  • Identify and discuss the movement changes that contributed to accurate ski performance.


Clinic Experiences:

  • The clinic leader and participants will collaborate to determine a relevant goal related to parallel skiing.
  • The clinic leader will emphasize how to integrate fore/aft pressure control, rotary control, and edging control to maintain parallel skis throughout a turn.
  • The participants will ski groomed intermediate and advanced terrain.
  • The clinic leader will provide feedback so participants are able to make specific adjustments.
  • The clinic leader will facilitate practice so participants may apply their feedback
  • The clinic leader will facilitate reflection on the day's goal and what movement changes improved the accuracy of their parallel skiing.
