Course Description:
Elevate your understanding of skiing with a deep dive into technique, tactics, and ski/body mechanics through Movement Analysis. This course uses video to sharpen your eye for detail, helping you describe performance with clarity, uncover cause-and-effect relationships, and design effective strategies for improvement. By connecting ski performance outcomes to body mechanics and the technical fundamentals, you'll gain the tools to analyze skiing at a high level and translate insights into meaningful results on snow.
Learning Experiences:
Specific activities will vary depending on the group's needs and environmental conditions and typically include:
• Enngaging in an interactive video-based training designed to refineobservation and analysis skills.
• Studying skiing movements through slow motion and real-time video clips.
• Practicing describing ski and body performance using precise, technical language.
• Exploring the relationship between ski performance outcomes, body mechanics, and the PSIA-AASI technical fundamentals.
• Collaborating in group discussions to compare observations, interpretations, and coaching strategies.
• Appling cause-and-effect reasoning to connect observed movements with performance outcomes.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, successful participants will be able to:
• Observe with Precision - Accurately identify and describe skiing movements using clear, professional language.
• Analyze Cause-and-Effect - Connect ski performance outcomes to body mechanics and underlying movement patterns.
• Apply Technical Fundamentals - Relate observed performance directly to the PSIA-AASI technical fundamentals of skiing.
• Develop Coaching Strategies - Design targeted feedback and activity progressions to improve skier performance.
• Strengthen Professional Knowledge - Demonstrate an advanced understanding of skiing technique and tactics through video-supported Movement Analysis.
